The Powerball jackpot has reached an estimated $127 million as no player matched all six numbers in Monday night’s drawing. The winning numbers for the latest drawing on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, were 15, 31, 45, 49, 53, and the Powerball was 19. The cash option for this jackpot stands at $59 million. Powerball drawings occur three times a week—on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays—at approximately 10:59 p.m. ET.

As interest in the lottery continues to grow, so does the allure of the Mega Millions, which is also making headlines with its estimated jackpot of $474 million for Friday’s drawing. The Mega Millions numbers from the previous Tuesday were 13, 24, 41, 42, 70, with a Mega Ball of 18.

Among the excitement surrounding both lotteries, players are reminded of the relatively slim chances of winning. In fact, there are 13 things statistically more likely to happen than winning the Powerball jackpot. To win any prize in the Powerball, players need to match at least one number, which must be the Powerball itself for a minimum payout of $4.

Tickets for Powerball cost $2 each, with an additional $1 for the Power Play option, which can multiply non-jackpot winnings. Players can also opt for the Double Play feature for another $1, giving them a second chance to win up to $10 million.

As anticipation builds for the next drawing, players are encouraged to check their numbers to see if they are the game’s latest winners. While no winners have emerged from the recent drawing, the excitement of potentially becoming an instant millionaire keeps ticket sales robust.

For those hoping to strike it rich, historical data from Powerball reveals that the most significant payouts have topped billions. The all-time highest Powerball jackpot was a staggering $2.04 billion, won on November 7, 2022, in California. Other notable jackpots include $1.787 billion in September 2025 across Missouri and Texas and $1.765 billion in October 2023, also in California.

As the lottery landscape continues to evolve, players remain eager for their chance at the big win, both in Powerball and Mega Millions.
