Chipotle Mexican Grill has announced an exciting new partnership with Zipline to introduce a delivery option dubbed “Zipotle.” This collaboration aims to enhance customer convenience by providing a fresh way to enjoy Chipotle’s offerings.

In addition to this new delivery service, Chipotle is also set to launch a new culinary creation—a vibrant red chimichurri sauce. This sauce features a blend of roasted garlic, fresh cilantro, chili peppers, and citrus juice, prepared fresh in restaurants daily. Chipotle’s President and Chief Brand Officer, Chris Brandt, emphasized that the red chimichurri represents more than just a sauce; it embodies a fresh perspective on flavor combinations for fans. Brandt described it as “a chef-driven sauce that complements any Chipotle entrée,” inviting customers to get creative with their meals.

Starting on Tuesday, September 30, the red chimichurri sauce will be available for a limited time at locations throughout the U.S. and Canada. Chipotle Rewards members will have the exclusive opportunity to try it for free on launch day, provided they purchase at least one regular entrée.

To enhance the dining experience, Chipotle’s Vice President of Culinary, Nevielle Panthaky, has suggested several entrée pairings that will make the most of the red chimichurri:

  1. Carne Asada Burrito: Featuring white rice, black beans, carne asada, fresh tomato salsa, guacamole, cheese, romaine lettuce, and red chimichurri.

  2. Chicken Bowl: Including white rice, black beans, chicken, roasted chili-corn salsa, guacamole, cheese, and red chimichurri.

  3. Sofritas Bowl: Comprising brown rice, pinto beans, sofritas, fajita veggies, roasted chili-corn salsa, fresh tomato salsa, guacamole, romaine lettuce, all enhanced with red chimichurri.

Chipotle Rewards members looking to snag the red chimichurri sauce for free can do so on September 30, but they must make their purchase through the Chipotle app or website—though the offer does not apply to catering or third-party delivery orders. To participate, members must sign up for Chipotle Rewards by 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT on September 29. New enrollees will also receive a complimentary guacamole offer upon joining.

In a related update, just weeks prior, Chipotle reintroduced carne asada, which has become the brand’s most-searched menu item. This flavorful offering consists of marinated grilled steak seasoned with a special spice blend, making it tender and juicy.

The introduction of the red chimichurri sauce, paired with the return of carne asada, showcases Chipotle’s commitment to innovation in both menu offerings and customer experience.
