NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang is set to engage with influential leaders and top executives in South Korea during the upcoming Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) CEO Summit. Scheduled from October 28 to 31, this event takes place in conjunction with the APEC leaders’ summit, where heads of the 21 member nations will convene.
NVIDIA’s statement highlighted that Huang’s participation aims to emphasize the company’s efforts in advancing technology and fostering growth across various sectors, including artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, digital twins, and autonomous vehicles. While specific details of Huang’s agenda have yet to be disclosed, significant meetings are anticipated, particularly with executives from South Korean tech giants Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix. These companies are crucial players in the memory chip market, supplying components essential for AI data centers.
As tensions escalate between the U.S. and China, both politically and economically, Huang’s trip comes at a critical time. Alongside these corporate interactions, U.S. President Donald Trump has announced plans to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping in South Korea, stirring discussions about potential trade agreements. This meeting follows China’s recent accusations against NVIDIA for allegedly breaching the country’s anti-monopoly law, marking a further complication in the ongoing trade disputes impacting the technology sector.
The APEC summit serves as a backdrop for significant dialogues and negotiations, making Huang’s attendance and planned engagements particularly noteworthy amidst the current geopolitical climate.
