United States stock markets will observe the Thanksgiving holiday with closures on Thursday, November 27, and an early closure on Friday, November 28. Both the Nasdaq and the New York Stock Exchange will remain closed on Thanksgiving Day and will reopen on November 28. However, they will close early at 1 p.m. ET that day.

The U.S. bond market will also be closed on Thursday, with an early closure at 2 p.m. ET on Friday, according to information provided by the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association.

Following the Thanksgiving holiday and the early closure for Black Friday, trading activities on Wall Street will return to regular hours until late December. The next planned market closure will be on Thursday, December 25, in observance of Christmas, with a scheduled early closure at 1 p.m. ET on Christmas Eve.

While many prepare for a festive Thanksgiving, travel plans may be complicated by a major storm affecting various regions across the country. Additionally, for the 2025 holiday schedule, stock markets in the U.S. are set to close on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day, with early closures on the respective days preceding these holidays.

As the holiday season approaches, shoppers are also being alerted to the best deals available during the upcoming Cyber Week, prompting many to plan their shopping strategies early.
