Cyber Monday has emerged as one of the most anticipated shopping events of the year, offering consumers a chance to capitalize on significant discounts following the post-Thanksgiving retail frenzy. Initially established as a complement to Black Friday, Cyber Monday has grown into a remarkable online shopping phenomenon, now extending well beyond its designated day into what has become known as “Cyber Week.”
Retailers are gearing up to provide substantial deals across various categories, including electronics, fashion, household items, and beauty products. Major retailers such as Amazon, Best Buy, Target, and Walmart are set to attract shoppers with enticing discounts.
This year, Cyber Monday will take place on December 1, 2025—following Thanksgiving on November 27 and Black Friday on November 28. The term “Cyber Monday” was first coined in 2005 by the National Retail Federation, which recognized a surge in online shopping as individuals returned to work, leveraging faster internet connections to complete their holiday shopping lists.
With the landscape of Cyber Monday evolving, many retailers have begun their sales in advance, allowing consumers to take advantage of deals starting as early as the weekend leading into the holiday. Amazon’s Cyber Monday event is scheduled to kick off on November 29, featuring a wide range of discounts—up to 50% off on technology brands such as JBL, Canon, and Bose. There will also be significant reductions on popular toys and beauty items, making it an excellent opportunity for holiday shopping.
Best Buy is similarly positioned to offer compelling deals from November 30 to December 1. Shoppers can expect impressive discounts of up to 63% on select laptops and substantial savings on major appliance brands. For members of the My Best Buy Rewards program, additional incentives will be available, alongside a holiday price-match guarantee ensuring competitive pricing throughout the season.
Target’s Cyber Monday offerings will also begin on November 30 and extend through December 1, featuring discounts of up to 50% on clothing, tech, and various home essentials. Deals on select Apple devices will see price drops of up to $200, incentivizing customers to complete their holiday gift lists.
Walmart, focusing on online sales only, will launch its Cyber Monday event on December 1, 2025. Walmart+ members will enjoy early access on November 30, experiencing noteworthy discounts on a variety of products, including home and lifestyle items.
Macy’s will host its Cyber Monday sale online, running from November 30 to December 1, showcasing discounts across multiple categories including apparel and home goods. Kohl’s will mirror these dates, providing significant markdowns on activewear, bedding, and kitchen appliances.
In the beauty sector, Ulta’s Cyber Monday sales will start at noon CT on November 30 and continue until early December, while Sephora plans an extended Cyber Week beginning November 24, with daily deals culminating on December 1.
These expansive offerings highlight how Cyber Monday has transformed into not just a single day of shopping, but an entire week dedicated to discounts and consumer incentives. Many retailers are capitalizing on this trend not only to meet consumer demand but also to expand their sales strategies, ensuring shoppers have ample opportunity to access their holiday needs at discounted prices. Shoppers are encouraged to prepare ahead of time to navigate the vast number of offerings and take full advantage of the sales available from their favorite retailers.
