Greater Akron Braces for Mixed Weather Week with Snow, Rain, and Cold Temperatures

Greater Akron is bracing for an active weather week, with a blend of snow, rain, and gusty winds affecting the region. According to the National Weather Service, residents can expect fluctuating temperatures and a variety of precipitation patterns throughout the week.

The forecast indicates that Tuesday will kick off the weather activity with light snow showers possible before 1 p.m. Temperatures will rise to a high near 36 degrees, accompanied by a breezy south wind that could gust as high as 32 mph. The chance of precipitation during the day stands at 40%, with new snow accumulation projected to be less than half an inch.

As the week progresses, the warmest day is anticipated to be Wednesday, when temperatures are expected to reach the upper 30s. Rain is likely before 1 p.m., transitioning to snow, potentially mixed with rain later in the day. Winds will remain breezy, with gusts reaching up to 43 mph. The chance of precipitation on Wednesday is high at 90%, though little to no snow accumulation is expected.

Following Wednesday, conditions will continue to shift, with snow likely in the evening, possibly becoming all snow after 7 p.m. The overnight temperature will dip to around 22 degrees with a 60% chance of additional snowfall, although new accumulation is expected to be less than an inch.

On Thursday, Greater Akron should prepare for more chances of snow, with mostly cloudy skies and a high near 29 degrees. The probability of precipitation remains steady at around 40%. The temperature is predicted to drop further at night, falling to about 19 degrees, with another chance for snow.

Friday looks particularly active, with snow expected throughout the day, especially after 1 p.m. The high will reach around 28 degrees, with a 60% chance of precipitation. Overnight, accumulation is likely before 1 a.m. as temperatures fall to around 11 degrees, increasing the chance of snowfall to 70%.

As the weekend approaches, unseasonably cold temperatures will set in. Saturday’s high is forecasted to be a frigid 18 degrees, with a chance of snow continuing through the day and into the night, when temperatures could drop to 9 degrees. The chance of precipitation holds at 40% during the day and 30% at night.

Finally, Sunday is projected to bring partly sunny skies with a modest high near 20 degrees, wrapping up what is expected to be a dynamic week of weather in Greater Akron. Residents are encouraged to stay updated on the evolving conditions as the week progresses.
