In a significant move for their roster, the St. Louis Blues have announced the signing of forward Robby Fabbri to a one-year, two-way contract. The terms of the contract include a salary of $775,000 for NHL play and $300,000 for AHL assignments. Fabbri is expected to join the team this Thursday for their upcoming game in Nashville.
In conjunction with this signing, the Blues have also placed forward Jordan Kyrou on injured reserve due to a lower-body injury, categorizing him as week-to-week in terms of recovery.
Robby Fabbri, now 29 years old, was initially selected by the Blues in the first round of the 2014 NHL Draft, being the 21st overall pick. Over the course of his first four seasons with the Blues, he participated in 164 regular-season games, accumulating a total of 73 points, including 32 goals and 41 assists, alongside 60 penalty minutes. Notably, Fabbri played an integral role in St. Louis’s postseason run, appearing in 10 games during their 2019 Stanley Cup victory.
This season, Fabbri has played three games with the AHL’s Charlotte Checkers, where he has notched two points with one goal and one assist. Across his entire NHL career, which includes time with the Blues, Detroit, and Anaheim, he has played 442 regular-season games, recording 216 points with 106 goals and 110 assists, as well as 203 penalty minutes. The Blues’ front office and fans alike will be hopeful that Fabbri can contribute positively upon his return to St. Louis.
