Arsenal's Gyokeres and Youngsters Feature in Champions League Clash Against Club Brugge

Viktor Gyokeres is set to make his long-awaited return to the starting lineup, marking his first appearance since November 1. The change is part of a broader reshuffle by Mikel Arteta, who has made five adjustments to the squad that recently faced Aston Villa. Joining Gyokeres in the starting eleven are Christian Norgaard, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Noni Madueke, and Gabriel Martinelli as Arsenal prepares for their Champions League clash against Club Brugge in Belgium.

Notably absent from the matchday squad is Jurrien Timber, prompting a necessary reconfiguration in the defense. Additionally, Declan Rice and Leandro Trossard are sidelined for this fixture. Meanwhile, Gabriel Jesus has been included in the Champions League roster, giving him the opportunity to make his return to competitive play after a lengthy 332-day recovery period. He will start on the bench, eager to contribute once more.

The Gunners’ bench also features young talent, including academy midfielder Louie Copley, 19, along with fellow teenagers Josh Nichols and Marli Salmon.

For the hosts, Club Brugge, former Sunderland and Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet will take the goalkeeping position. He is one of just two changes from their recent 3-2 defeat to St Truiden, with Carlos Forbs also making his way into the starting lineup. This match marks the inaugural game for new Brugge manager Ivan Leko, who will be looking to make an immediate impact in his first outing.

The anticipated showdown is set to unfold with both teams hoping to secure a crucial victory in their Champions League campaign, as the lineups reflect a blend of experience and fresh talent.
