Real Madrid Faces Player Suspensions Following Celta Vigo Defeat

Real Madrid is enduring a challenging period following their recent defeat to Celta Vigo, not only grappling with the loss but also contending with substantial aftereffects that have further complicated their situation. The match at the Bernabeu saw three players dismissed, leaving the squad severely depleted.

In a controversial evening, Fran Garcia received two yellow cards, while Alvaro Carreras and Endrick Felipe were sent off for dissent. Additionally, club captain Dani Carvajal, who was not included in the matchday squad, faced disciplinary action following inappropriate comments directed at referee Alejandro Quintero Gonzalez.

The consequences of these actions have now been confirmed, with all four players receiving suspensions. Carreras, Endrick, and Carvajal will each miss the next two matches, while Garcia, who received a lesser penalty due to the nature of his infractions, will be sidelined for only one game.

This means that Real Madrid is set to face Alaves this weekend without these key players. Carreras, Endrick, and Carvajal will also be absent during a crucial fixture against Sevilla, which marks the team’s final match of 2025.

The absence of Endrick is particularly noteworthy, as he has already been linked to a move to Lyon at the start of January, making this suspension a significant blow to his current tenure with Los Blancos. Aside from a potential appearance in the Champions League against Manchester City or the Copa del Rey against CF Talavera de la Reina, his time with Real Madrid seems nearly over.

The loss of Garcia poses additional challenges for the team, particularly as Ferland Mendy is also injured, leaving Real Madrid without a natural left-back for the upcoming match. On a slightly brighter note, although Garcia is banned this week, he is expected to return for the match against Sevilla, which could provide some relief for head coach Xabi Alonso.

In contrast, Carvajal’s suspension appears somewhat irrelevant, as he continues to recover from a knee injury. His return to full fitness is projected for January or February, which means he would not have participated in the upcoming games regardless of his suspension.

As Real Madrid navigates this tumultuous phase, the team’s depth and resilience will be put to the test as they look to bounce back from recent setbacks.
