In a significant move for the South Florida football program, newly appointed head coach Brian Hartline has completed one of his key off-the-field hires by bringing Jenna Learn into an upper-level executive personnel position. This announcement comes as part of Hartline’s efforts to build a competitive coaching staff and operational team following his transition from Ohio State, where he served as offensive coordinator.
Jenna Learn, a USF graduate, is returning to her roots after an impressive stint at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). There, she was promoted to assistant general manager, a role she assumed last summer under head coach Jeff Traylor. Her journey in football began shortly after she graduated from USF, where she was hired as the football operations and recruiting coordinator at just 20 years old.
Sources indicate that Hartline identified Learn as a priority for his inaugural staff shortly after his hiring, which followed the departure of former head coach Alex Golesh to Auburn. Their discussions about Learn’s role took place last week, ensuring her presence in Tampa during Hartline’s introductory press conference.
Learn’s credentials are impressive; she was recognized as a 30-under-30 honoree by 247Sports, highlighting her potential and accomplishments in the football industry at a young age. Additionally, she has gained valuable experience from her time as director of recruiting at Michigan State, where she worked under Mark Diethorn, further enhancing her skill set and expertise in navigating the Power Conference landscape.
As the USF program looks to build on a successful season in which it won nine games and prepares for the upcoming Cure Bowl against Old Dominion, the addition of Learn is expected to play a crucial role in maintaining and elevating the program’s competitive stature. Hartline’s strategic hires indicate a commitment to creating a robust framework for success as he embarks on his new journey as head coach.
