Luka Doncic, the star guard for the Los Angeles Lakers, has welcomed the arrival of his second child, a daughter named Olivia. The announcement was shared via Instagram on Saturday morning, marking a joyous occasion for Doncic and his fiancée, Anamaria Goltes.
The timing of this event coincided with Doncic missing the Lakers’ last two games, as he had returned to his hometown of Ljubljana, Slovenia, to support Goltes during the delivery. Sources revealed that Doncic’s absence was attributed to personal reasons related to the birth of their new daughter. The couple already shares a 2-year-old daughter, Gabriela.
In Doncic’s absence, the Lakers endured a challenging stretch, culminating in a 126-105 defeat to the Boston Celtics on Friday. Lakers coach JJ Redick expressed optimism about Doncic’s potential return, indicating that he could be back with the team as early as their upcoming game in Philadelphia against the 76ers on Sunday. During the games Doncic missed, the Lakers managed a split record of 1-1.
Currently, the Lakers sit at an impressive 16-6, ranking third in the Western Conference standings. Doncic has been a pivotal player for the team, leading the league in scoring with an impressive average of 35.3 points per game. In addition to his scoring prowess, he ranks fourth in assists (8.9), 19th in rebounds (8.9), and 11th in steals (1.6) per game. His exceptional performance continues to solidify his status as one of the standout players in the NBA.
