The timing of this event coincided with Doncic missing the Lakers’ last two games, as he had returned to his hometown of Ljubljana, Slovenia, to support Goltes during the delivery. Sources revealed that Doncic’s absence was attributed to personal reasons related to the birth of their new daughter. The couple already shares a 2-year-old daughter, Gabriela.
In Doncic’s absence, the Lakers endured a challenging stretch, culminating in a 126-105 defeat to the Boston Celtics on Friday. Lakers coach JJ Redick expressed optimism about Doncic’s potential return, indicating that he could be back with the team as early as their upcoming game in Philadelphia against the 76ers on Sunday.
