The Baltimore City Department of Transportation (BDCOT) has issued a warning for drivers regarding temporary road and lane closures that will take effect from noon on Saturday, coinciding with the highly anticipated Army vs. Navy football game at M&T Bank Stadium. The festivities are set to commence with the game kicking off at 3 p.m.
As part of the preparations for the event, the northbound Russell Street Service Drive adjacent to M&T Bank Stadium will be closed between West and Hamburg Streets. This closure will remain in place both prior to and during the game. Additionally, the Hamburg Street Bridge will be temporarily shut down between Leaden Hall and Paca Streets to facilitate game ingress. This closure will be lifted once the game begins, only to be reinstated at the start of the fourth quarter for egress.
Similarly, the Ostend Street Bridge will also see temporary closures between Sharp and Warner Streets for ingress, with the same pattern of removal once the game is underway and reactivation at the beginning of the fourth quarter to manage exit traffic. A special traffic pattern will be put in place along Warner Street between the Ostend Street Bridge and Stockholm Street to aid ingress through the area.
Additional traffic modifications will be seen along Warner Street, Alluvion Street, Worcester Street, and Bayard Street for egress starting with the fourth quarter. Importantly, Hamburg Street will be closed between Hanover and Charles Streets at that time, and no southbound travel will be allowed along Hanover Street between Henrietta and Hamburg Streets. Instead, all traffic will be diverted to Henrietta Street to offer east or westbound options.
Fans attending the game are advised that all posted parking restrictions and residential permit parking regulations around the stadium will be strictly enforced. Those attending are encouraged to utilize commercial lots for parking, steering clear of local neighborhoods to prevent potential disruptions. For individuals without parking permits for stadium lots, public transportation options, such as the Charm City Circulator, are highly recommended.
Anticipating high traffic volumes in Downtown Baltimore for the game, Transportation Enforcement Officers will be deployed to assist in managing traffic flow. Drivers in the vicinity of the stadium should exercise caution due to anticipated heavy pedestrian and vehicle traffic, along with possible traffic alterations before and during the event.
