2025 Heisman Trophy Finalists Announced

In a highly anticipated announcement, the top four finalists for the 2025 Heisman Trophy have been unveiled. The winner of this prestigious award will be revealed on Saturday, December 13, at 7 p.m. ET on ABC. This year’s finalists showcase an impressive array of talent from various college football programs.

Jeremiyah Love — RB, Notre Dame

Jeremiyah Love has emerged as a standout running back for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish during his junior season. Despite the team not making it to the College Football Playoff, Love’s individual accomplishments have set him apart. He broke the Notre Dame program record for the most touchdowns in a single season with 21, surpassing the legendary Jerome Bettis. Love also tied teammate Audric Estimé for the most rushing touchdowns in a season with 18. With 1,372 rushing yards, he ranked fourth in the FBS and led all players with at least 150 rushing attempts with an impressive 6.9 yards per carry, showcasing his explosive capability on the field.

Fernando Mendoza — QB, Indiana

Fernando Mendoza, a transfer from Cal, has been a pivotal player in Indiana’s successful season, leading his team to an undefeated 13-0 record. The standout quarterback has thrown for an impressive 33 passing touchdowns while keeping interceptions to just six. Although his total passing yards trail behind some competitors, his efficiency and ability to lead the Hoosiers without a loss this season have etched his name into the Heisman conversation.

Diego Pavia — QB, Vanderbilt

The arrival of Diego Pavia at Vanderbilt has marked a significant turning point for the Commodores. Over two seasons, he has helped propel Vanderbilt from being a perennial basement team in the SEC to a legitimate contender. Pavia’s contributions were crucial in leading the team to its first-ever 10-win season in program history, culminating in a No. 14 final ranking in the College Football Playoff standings. This season, he amassed 27 passing touchdowns and 3,192 passing yards, while also contributing significantly on the ground with nine rushing touchdowns and 826 yards.

Julian Sayin — QB, Ohio State

Julian Sayin faced high expectations following Will Howard’s national championship season but has risen to the challenge. The sophomore quarterback has been instrumental in helping Ohio State secure a perfect 12-0 record in the regular season. With 31 passing touchdowns, 3,323 passing yards, and only six interceptions, Sayin’s performance ranks among the top in the nation. His standout moment came during Rivalry Week, where he delivered an exceptional performance against Michigan, throwing for 233 yards and three touchdowns, leading to a long-awaited victory for the Buckeyes.

As the December announcement date approaches, college football fans eagerly await the crowning of this year’s Heisman Trophy winner, spotlighting the remarkable achievements of these four finalists.
