In response to inclement weather, the University of Kentucky has announced a two-hour delay for its operations on December 12. The delay aims to ensure the safety and well-being of all students, faculty, and staff on campus. While in-person activities for students prior to 10 a.m. are canceled, UK HealthCare facilities will continue to operate on their regular schedule without interruption.
Employees designated under Plan B are instructed to report to work according to their regular schedules. In contrast, all other university employees, with the exception of those working at UK HealthCare, are expected to arrive at 10 a.m. Employees classified as designated and able to work remotely should do so during this Plan B operation. For any uncertainty regarding work procedures during this period, employees are encouraged to reach out directly to their managers for clarification.
Facilities crews are actively engaged in clearing roads, parking lots, and sidewalks to ensure safe passage for individuals traveling to and from the university.
For ongoing updates regarding university operations, members of the campus community should check the official alerts section on the university website. The institution has also emphasized that any changes to its operational status will be communicated via a UK Alert.
Additionally, individuals seeking further information about the university’s severe weather procedures are invited to visit the designated webpage. These measures underscore the university’s commitment to maintaining a safe environment amid adverse weather conditions.
