The United States stock markets will observe early closures for the upcoming Christmas holiday. On December 24, both the Nasdaq and the New York Stock Exchange will close at 1 p.m. ET. In addition to the stock markets, the U.S. bond market will also have an early closure that same day, wrapping up trading at 2 p.m. ET. All markets will remain closed on Christmas Day, December 25, according to announcements from their respective organizations.

Trading will resume on December 26, with normal operations anticipated for several days thereafter. Following the holiday break, the next scheduled closure for the stock markets will occur on January 1, 2026, in observance of New Year’s Day. Additionally, the bond markets will again close early on New Year’s Eve, December 31, at 2 p.m. ET, while the Nasdaq and NYSE will stick to their typical closing schedule on that day.

As the holiday season approaches, many investors and traders are gearing up for the year-end finale in the markets, with a focus on holiday shopping trends that could impact consumer stocks.
