As for the team’s performance, the 2025-26 season marks the third year under Head Coach Ed Cooley. Last season, Cooley led the Hoyas to a notable improvement, nearly doubling their win total from the previous year to finish with a record of 18-16, including 8-12 in BIG EAST play. Georgetown earned a spot in the inaugural College Basketball Crown, where they advanced to the quarterfinals before being eliminated by Nebraska, the eventual champions.
In their most recent game, the Hoyas suffered a defeat against the No. 16/17 University of North Carolina Tar Heels, falling 81-61. KJ Lewis was a standout performer, scoring 17 points and grabbing seven rebounds, while Julius Halaifonua and Langston Love contributed 14 and 10 points, respectively. Malik Mack was notable for his four assists, showcasing a well-rounded team effort.
Currently, the Hoyas feature four players averaging double figures in scoring, led by Lewis at 16.7 points per game, ranking fifth in the BIG EAST Conference.
