Tens of thousands of spectators are set to fill the city’s streets on both Saturday and Sunday, creating an electric atmosphere for participants and fans alike. However, attendees should prepare for significant temperature changes, as a cold front is expected to sweep in on Saturday evening, dropping temperatures close to freezing before rising to a high of 44 degrees on Sunday.
With the marathon expected to draw large crowds, extensive road closures will be implemented throughout the city. The event utilizes a rolling course closure method designed to minimize disruptions, meaning that major intersections will remain accessible until just before the first runner approaches and will reopen only after the last runner has passed.
On Saturday, roads throughout downtown Dallas will be closed from approximately 7:30 a.m. until 10:03 a.m. Sunday will see closures starting at the same time, but lasting until around 3:41 p.m. Additional closures will occur in Highland Park and Uptown from 7:43 a.m. to 2:29 p.m., in Lakewood Heights from 8:13 a.m. to 2:24 p.m., and in White Rock Lake from 8:23 a.m. to 1:55 p.m.
