Chloe Fineman is shedding light on her unconventional bedtime routine following late nights spent working on Saturday Night Live. The comedian, now 37, amusingly admits that after her Saturday performances, she often finds herself in a haze, sometimes forgetting basic tasks like brushing her teeth. “Lately, I’ve been really good about the teeth, but that was a new thing I had to really remember to do,” she confesses. Her typical routine, she explains, involves removing her makeup but often waking up to find her eyelashes scattered around her bed.
In a playful twist, fans can now experience Fineman’s humor at bedtime. She has partnered with Moxy Hotels across the United States and Canada for a unique guest experience, allowing visitors to dial up her voice for bedtime stories. For her “Call for a Bedtime Story” series, Fineman has written and recorded three comedic bedtime tales that showcase her wit and impressive range of impressions.
Expressing her enthusiasm about the collaboration, Fineman notes that creating fun and cheeky bedtime stories themed around holiday staycations aligns perfectly with her passion. “I already do [staycations] myself, so it’s true,” she says. The stories aim to entertain rather than relax, with Fineman humorously acknowledging her role, “I don’t know if I’m relaxing, but hopefully [I’m] entertaining.”
Drawing inspiration from her own experiences, particularly the holiday madness that can arise when visiting family, she conceived her story “The Staycation” from her decision to escape the chaos through local getaways. “It came about from my own experience of the holidays, of it just kind of being a lot,” she explains.
Additionally, her poetry project includes a whimsical piece titled “Merry Peachmas,” dedicated to her dog, a Shiba Inu named Peaches, and captures the humorous rivalry between Peaches and a family cat. Fineman hopes that her bedtime stories will resonate with others facing holiday stress and inspire them to indulge in their own staycations.
Despite her comedic persona, Fineman admits to struggles with sleep. “I’m a big nap person,” she shares, noting the challenges of adapting to a busy schedule. While she experiments with various methods to improve her sleep quality, she often relies on napping to catch up when needed.
On Sundays, Fineman emphasizes the importance of self-care amid her hectic SNL schedule. These off-days are typically reserved for relaxation practices such as foot massages, which she considers an excellent way to unwind. In addition to pampering herself, she enjoys decluttering her space and binge-watching shows, recently expressing her fascination with Hulu’s legal drama, All’s Fair, remarking, “Jaw to the floor.”
Through her candid reflections on routine, staycations, and self-care, Fineman connects with her audience, blending humor and relatability in the pursuit of a balanced life amidst the holiday hustle.
