Ram has officially announced the return of the highly anticipated 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX, a model that promises to deliver exceptional power and performance. Equipped with a supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 engine, the TRX boasts an impressive output of 777 horsepower and 680 pound-feet of torque. This powerhouse enables the truck to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds.

Set to hit the market in the latter half of 2026, the 2027 TRX will have a starting price of $102,290. Ram has incorporated an eight-speed automatic transmission that channels power to a full-time active four-wheel-drive system. The vehicle also comes with a two-speed transfer case, ideal for varying terrain challenges, and includes a Baja Mode feature that sends 75 percent of torque to the rear wheels for enhanced off-road capabilities.

The TRX’s off-road prowess is further supported by Bilstein e2 Blackhawk shocks, known for actively adjusting both rebound and compression damping rates to ensure a smooth ride, especially during airborne landings. With 13 inches of front suspension travel and 14 inches in the rear, combined with a Dana 60 rear axle and an electronic locker, the TRX remains a formidable force off the beaten path. It also features an impressive 11.8 inches of ground clearance.

Visually, the 2027 TRX retains a familiar design with some refreshes. This model will be available exclusively in Crew Cab and Short Bed configurations, elevated by 2 inches in height and 8 inches wider compared to the 1500 Rebel. Standard equipment includes 18-inch satin-black wheels and large, robust 15-inch front and rear brake rotors.

Inside the cabin, the TRX is outfitted with high-end features including heated, ventilated, and massaging front seats. A 14.5-inch center display is complemented by a 12.3-inch digital driver display and a 10-inch head-up display. Additionally, buyers will enjoy a premium 19-speaker Harmon Kardon sound system, all of which adds to the truck’s luxury appeal.

Alongside the standard TRX, Ram is also set to offer a limited edition known as the Bloodshot Night Edition, featuring dual-tone black and red paint and interior carbon fiber trim. While specific pricing details for this special edition are yet to be disclosed, interest is expected to be high.

As the Ram TRX enters the market, it raises questions about Ford’s response with its Raptor lineup. Although no official announcement has been made, upcoming models shown at events hint at increased power, potentially creating a fierce competitive landscape among off-road trucks. The return of the TRX signals a reinvigorated rivalry, inviting enthusiasts and collectors to gear up for the latest installment in the ongoing “truck wars.”
