In a significant move for the blockchain and cryptocurrency sectors, OKX Ventures has announced a strategic investment in STBL, a leading provider of next-generation stablecoin and yield infrastructure. This partnership is expected to reshape the landscape for real-world asset (RWA) backed stablecoins, integrating advanced technology with traditional financial frameworks.
The announcement came alongside STBL’s collaboration with Hamilton Lane, a prominent global private markets investment firm, and Securitize, a digital securities issuance and tokenization platform. Together, they are set to launch a new real-world-asset-backed stablecoin on X Layer, OKX’s EVM-compatible Layer 2 blockchain. This layer allows users to access thousands of tokens while benefiting from deep liquidity and tightly integrated markets.
The partnership aims to advance blockchain-based financial infrastructure, making strides toward integrating traditional market practices with on-chain innovations. This endeavor is focused on producing regulated on-chain financial products by merging institutional private credit with programmable settlement infrastructure.
A key component of this initiative is the feeder fund structure supporting the launch, which ties into Hamilton Lane’s Senior Credit Opportunities Fund (SCOPE). The fund will be issued and tokenized through Securitize, establishing an institutional-grade foundation within the overarching collateral architecture. This design is aimed at allowing scalable and regulated stablecoin issuance, backed by tokenized real-world assets.
In addition, STBL will debut the first Ecosystem-Specific Stablecoin (ESS) on X Layer. The coin employs a dual-token architecture, which distinguishes between liquid settlement and yield generation functionalities. This innovative approach aligns with STBL’s mission to build Money-as-a-Service infrastructure, empowering ecosystems to create branded stablecoins supported by RWAs.
“The collaboration strengthens the foundation for highly capital efficient RWA products across the network,” stated Jeff Ren, founder of OKX Ventures. “Partnering with STBL and Hamilton Lane enables us to accelerate our mission and provide users with a more mature RWA ecosystem.”
Dr. Avtar Sehra, the CEO and co-founder of STBL, emphasized the transformative potential of this project. “RWA markets are entering a new phase where tokenization must deliver real utility, not just representation,” he noted. STBL’s architecture promises to enhance liquidity, yield management, and utility across various on-chain ecosystems.
Carlos Domingo, CEO of Securitize, remarked on the advantages of this partnership, highlighting how tokenization can create functional building blocks for financial applications. “By integrating institutional private credit directly into on-chain money flows, we’re not just holding tokenized assets; we’re enabling them to be settled and utilized across financial applications,” he said.
While this development brings promising prospects, it is essential to convey a cautionary note regarding the inherent risks associated with stablecoins, tokenized assets, and yield-related digital asset arrangements. Market fluctuations, regulatory uncertainties, and the potential loss of capital are potential concerns for investors.
STBL, co-founded by industry veterans Reeve Collins, creator of Tether, and Dr. Avtar Sehra, focuses on developing architecture for ESS across the global financial landscape. Through its dual-token system, STBL aims to empower networks, banks, and institutions to launch branded stable-assets that are transparent and yield-generating.
OKX Ventures, the investment division of the prominent crypto exchange, has committed to fostering innovation in the blockchain space. With over a decade of expertise, the firm aims to support emerging technologies that will shape the future of finance.
Hamilton Lane stands out as a leader in private market investments, managing a formidable portfolio that emphasizes flexible investment strategies across diverse sectors and geographies. Securitize, with substantial assets under management, is recognized for its role in tokenizing financial assets, partnering with notable firms, and being acknowledged as a top fintech company.
This collaboration between STBL, OKX Ventures, Hamilton Lane, and Securitize symbolizes a significant step forward in making blockchain technology a practical tool for the evolving financial landscape.
