American Bitcoin Corp. (ABTC), backed by the Trump family, has significantly increased its Bitcoin holdings, now surpassing 6,000 BTC. This rise positions the company among the top 20 holders of Bitcoin in the public market, with current reserves totaling 6,060 BTC, valued at approximately $413 million. The increase of 217 BTC over the past month reflects a strategic approach to building reserves, utilizing both mining output and direct market purchases while Bitcoin prices attempt to stabilize above the $70,000 mark.
Data sourced from Arkham Intelligence indicates that American Bitcoin is steadily closing the gap on Galaxy Digital, which holds 6,894 BTC. However, ABTC has faced headwinds, with its shares trading around $1.14 as of Friday, a modest rise of 1.75% yet still approximately 45% lower compared to earlier in the year. The stock peaked above $2 in January but has declined amidst cryptocurrency market fluctuations, particularly with Bitcoin’s weakened price.
The company’s operational strategy is characterized as a “mining to treasury” approach, aiming to retain Bitcoin as a core asset rather than selling it into the market upon production. Earlier this year, American Bitcoin reported its reserves were around 5,843 BTC, highlighting a Bitcoin yield of roughly 116% since its debut on Nasdaq in September 2025.
Recent shifts in the cryptocurrency landscape have been favorable, with Bitcoin rebounding above $70,000 on the back of easing U.S. inflation data that has revitalized market sentiment. As inflation trends appear to soften, expectations for earlier rate cuts by the Federal Reserve have developed, further boosting both traditional and cryptocurrency markets. The current market cap of Bitcoin has surpassed $1.4 trillion.
American Bitcoin Corp. launched in September following a spin-off from Hut 8 Corp., with Eric Trump acting as co-founder and chief strategy officer, and Donald Trump Jr. involved as an investor. As the company continues to build its Bitcoin treasury, it reflects a growing trend of public companies recognizing cryptocurrency as a valuable asset for long-term financial strategies.
