Bitget, a leading cryptocurrency exchange, has announced the launch of live trading for tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) through its platform, Bitget Wallet. This development comes as a result of a newly established integration with Ondo Finance, making them among the first to allow users outside of the U.S. to access tokenized stocks and exchange-traded funds (ETFs). This partnership positions both companies as alternative gateways to traditional financial markets within the decentralized finance (DeFi) landscape.
The newly introduced RWA module allows users of Bitget Onchain and Bitget Wallet to explore, analyze, and trade over 100 tokenized stocks and ETFs—reportedly the largest available selection on the blockchain today. Each token provides total-return exposure to the underlying security, mirroring both price movements and reinvested dividends, and is fully backed by real assets held with licensed custodians. With a minimum investment threshold of just $1, these offerings provide a significant opportunity for retail investors. Unlike typical on-chain liquidity pools, the tokenized assets utilize the liquidity of traditional equity markets, delivering execution quality that rivals traditional exchanges via Ondo’s Global Markets infrastructure. However, eligibility to use this service does exclude certain markets, including specific U.S. users. The assets are currently issued on Ethereum, with plans to extend this offering to Solana, BNB Chain, and other supported blockchains.
Gracy Chen, the CEO of Bitget, emphasized the importance of this integration in facilitating access to global investments without the past complexities associated with traditional finance. The application of blockchain technology in bridging traditional financial vehicles to decentralized platforms is seen as a milestone in the evolution of finance.
Jamie Elkaleh, Chief Marketing Officer of Bitget Wallet, highlighted the essential role of RWAs in the evolving on-chain economy. Integrating with Ondo Finance is a strategic move aimed at enhancing Bitget Wallet’s status as a global asset passport, aligning with their vision of democratizing financial access through self-custodial solutions.
Ondo Finance is recognized as a regulated platform specializing in the tokenization of publicly traded stocks and ETFs. With assets exceeding $1 billion under management, their tokenized securities operate under a robust legal framework designed to enhance investor security through daily third-party attestations.
Nathan Allman, Founder and CEO of Ondo Finance, remarked on the groundbreaking nature of Ondo Global Markets, which enables global investors to access an extensive selection of tokenized U.S. equities. Allman likened the advent of tokenized securities to previous breakthroughs, such as stablecoins bringing the U.S. dollar onto blockchain platforms.
Having previously joined Ondo Finance’s Global Markets Alliance, Bitget has now solidified its status as a key player in the tokenized asset space, enhancing its ecosystem to cater to a wide range of global investment opportunities.
Tokenized representations of well-known companies like Apple, Tesla, and Amazon, as well as major ETFs, are among the offerings now available. All assets are priced in USD and can be traded around the clock, further broadening access to traditional markets via blockchain technology. Eligibility for trading is determined by regional regulations, with Bitget users gaining entry without the need for conventional brokerage accounts.
Additionally, Bitget Wallet plans to collaborate with Ondo Finance in launching promotional campaigns aimed at driving the adoption of tokenized financial products. The company is also set to expand its range of tokenized assets, targeting a future selection of more than 1,000 stocks and ETFs.
