A widely-used kitchen product, the Granitestone Diamond Pro Blue Stainless Sauté Pans, has been recalled due to safety concerns after a disturbing number of incidents were reported. The recall affects approximately 740,000 units sold at major retailers including Costco, Walmart.com, Amazon.com, and in physical stores across the country.
The issue arose when customers reported that the metal cap on the handle of the sauté pans had ejected after being heated, leading to potentially dangerous situations in the kitchen. E Mishan, the company responsible for manufacturing the sauté pans, has received at least 98 reports detailing this malfunction, which raises significant safety concerns. Among these reports, one consumer noted experiencing bruising and burn injuries as a result of the issue.
In light of these incidents, E Mishan has urged consumers to discontinue use of the affected pans immediately. The company has advised that individuals impacted by the recall should contact them directly to obtain a full refund for their purchase.
The recalled pans come in a 2-piece set featuring one 10-inch pan and another measuring 11.5 inches. The specific UPC number for these products is 0-80313-08131-6. Customers who own these sauté pans are encouraged to check their kitchen supplies against this description and take appropriate action as recommended by the company.
The situation underscores the importance of consumer vigilance regarding product safety, particularly with commonly used kitchenware. A notice regarding the recall is available on the U.S. Consumer Product and Safety Commission website, where consumers can find additional information on the matter.
