Two notable transactions have recently emerged, reflecting a strong institutional interest in Hedera (HBAR) and the efficacy of DeFi Technologies’ platforms. The investments, totaling approximately $11 million, were facilitated through DeFi Technologies’ symposium in Abu Dhabi. The bulk of this capital—$10 million—was directed to Valour’s Hedera ETP listed on Börse Frankfurt, while the remaining $1 million was allocated to Valour Hedera SEK on Sweden’s Spotlight Exchange.
This influx of institutional investment is indicative of a burgeoning demand for regulated access to digital assets, particularly through familiar investment vehicles like exchange-traded products (ETPs). The transactions represent a significant advancement in Valour’s assets under management (AUM) in Germany, a crucial location for ETPs in Europe.
Strategic discussions at the Abu Dhabi Insights Symposium played a pivotal role in these transactions. DeFi Technologies presented its DEFT Valour Investment Opportunity Index (DVIO Index) as a tool for identifying digital assets that are gaining traction amongst sophisticated investors. The institutional interest in Hedera ETPs illustrates how DeFi Technologies monitors market activity and signals emerging trends in digital asset allocation.
Since its launch in January 2026, the DVIO Index has served as an institutional-grade benchmark tracking the top 50 crypto assets categorized within Valour’s ETP ecosystem. The index adjusts weights weekly based on actual capital allocations by regulated investors, thus providing real-time insights into market positioning across both institutional and retail assets.
Andrew Forson, President of DeFi Technologies and Chief Growth Officer of Valour, remarked on the dual role of the ETP platform, saying, “The strength of our ETP platform is not only in providing regulated access to digital assets but in helping surface where institutional demand is forming.” This statement underscores the potential for the combination of Valour’s diverse product suite and the DVIO Index to convert investor confidence into tangible capital formation.
The substantial institutional investments signal increased recognition of Hedera (HBAR) within professional investment circles. For many investors seeking structured exposure to digital assets, regulated ETPs offer a credible avenue for market entry. Valour’s focus on transparency and market intelligence could enhance visibility and credibility for emerging ecosystems like Hedera.
Valour’s expanding AUM is critical for its revenue model, as management fees from ETPs directly contribute to financial growth. A higher AUM not only enhances revenue but also allows for greater operational leverage across its platform. The recent transactions further support Valour’s strategic positioning at Börse Frankfurt, helping to solidify its presence within the German market.
These transactions also align with DeFi Technologies’ broader goal of deepening its asset management capabilities. The firm has positioned itself at the intersection of traditional finance and digital assets, underlining its commitment to providing secure and simple access to the digital economy through innovative investment solutions. Valour’s Hedera ETPs enable investors to gain exposure to HBAR, the native token of the Hedera network, through regulated products accessible via conventional brokerage and banking systems.
This growing institutional interest in regulated digital asset products not only enhances market legitimacy but may also contribute to the long-term adoption and evolution of such assets in mainstream finance.
