Shares of Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) experienced a significant downturn on Thursday, plunging over 6% to an all-time low of $7.06. This decline comes amidst troubling financial reports that highlight substantial net losses and disappointing revenue figures for the company. Trump, who holds approximately a 52% stake in TMTG, has seen the value of his assets diminish notably as a result.
On this particular day, TMTG’s stock tumbled by 6.1%, marking the sharpest decline of the week. Since the beginning of the year, the company’s shares have dropped more than 46%, falling from an initial price of around $13.77. The reasons behind Thursday’s sudden downturn remain unclear, but the consistent decline in stock value can be attributed to the company’s ongoing battle with net losses, which have persisted over the last three quarters.
In terms of financial estimates, Trump’s net worth was calculated at $5.9 billion, reflecting a $700 million decrease since the start of the year. The company reported staggering net losses of $405.9 million for the first quarter of 2026 alone.
Established in 2024, Trump Media made its public debut on the Nasdaq at a price of $70.90. However, its first year on the stock market was marked by volatility; shares plummeted to around $13 just six months post-launch before experiencing a rebound to approximately $40 around the time of Trump’s inauguration. In 2025, the company reported an alarming $712 million in net losses for the entire year, largely attributed to unrealized losses linked to investments in cryptocurrency, digital assets, and equity securities, with a shocking $368.7 million in losses recorded in these areas. The company’s primary revenue generator, advertising sales from Truth Social, contributed a mere $3.7 million in total revenue for 2025, highlighting the challenges TMTG faces in establishing a stable financial footing.
As of Thursday, Trump Media’s market capitalization was hovering just below the $2 billion mark, casting further doubt on its financial viability moving forward.
