Eligible Amazon Customers Have 30 Days Left to Claim Up to $51 in $2.5 Billion Settlement

Some eligible Amazon customers face a pressing deadline to file a claim in the company’s substantial $2.5 billion settlement with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). The window for submissions is set to close on July 27, 2026, leaving only 30 days for qualifying customers to take action. Those who meet the criteria may receive payments of up to $51, following a lawsuit that alleged Amazon used coercive tactics to enroll consumers in Prime subscriptions and subsequently made cancellation difficult.

This case traces back to a settlement reached in September 2025, where Amazon agreed to pay the hefty sum to resolve the antitrust accusations stemming from a lawsuit filed in 2023. The retailer has maintained its innocence, asserting that it strives to make the cancellation of Prime memberships clear and straightforward for customers.

Only select Amazon customers qualify for a settlement payment, as outlined in a court order related to the case. To be eligible, customers must have signed up for Prime between June 23, 2019, and June 23, 2025, and attempted to cancel their subscription unsuccessfully or enrolled through certain specified pages on Amazon’s website. The so-called “challenged enrollment flow” includes pages like the Universal Prime Decision Page, Shipping Option Select Page, Prime Video enrollment flow, and Single Page Checkout.

Eligible customers can file a claim through an online portal or by submitting the necessary forms via email to info@subscriptionmembershipsettlement.com. It is important to note that only those who used their Prime benefits 10 or fewer times within any 12-month period of enrollment can submit a claim in this second phase of payouts. Customers should have received notification of their eligibility via email or mail.

The payout each eligible customer receives will be contingent on the total amount of Prime membership fees paid throughout the duration of their subscription, with a maximum payout of $51.

After the claim submission window closes, Amazon will have 30 days to review each claim form. Payments will be processed following the approval of a claim, with disbursement expected by September 2026. Automatic payments related to the initial phase of the settlement were already disbursed between November 12 and December 24, 2025.
