Bitget, a top cryptocurrency exchange and Web3 company, has announced a strategic partnership with Erasmus Student Network (ESN) Luzern, aimed at enhancing awareness and understanding of Web3 technologies among students. This collaboration launched with a specially organized “Game Night” event on September 8th and 9th, which welcomed over 100 students from the University of Lucerne, Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, and PH Luzern.
The two-day event took place at the Gameorama Spielmuseum in Luzern, marking a key highlight of the welcome week for new students. It featured educational sessions centered on the fundamentals of cryptocurrencies and decentralized finance, followed by interactive gaming activities that included virtual reality, board games, card games, and classic arcade games.
Vugar Usi Zade, Bitget’s COO, emphasized the initiative’s approach to practical education, stating, “Most programs simply teach theory; we are focused on closing the practicality gap.” He expressed a commitment to not only inform students but also to cultivate future developers and entrepreneurs capable of using decentralized technologies to instigate meaningful societal changes.
The ESN Luzern, part of the larger non-profit Erasmus Student Network, focuses on supporting and integrating international students in Switzerland, providing essential resources and organizing social and cultural events to assist students in acclimating to their new surroundings. Tom Haak, President of ESN Luzern, reiterated the importance of equipping students with relevant knowledge and skills that align with future career demands.
The collaboration offers a unique opportunity for students to gain essential digital skills critical to contributing positively to the growing Web3 ecosystem. Looking ahead, the partnership aims to expand its outreach, with a workshop titled “DeFi 2.0 & The Rise of Real-World Assets” planned at the HSLU Informatik & Wirtschaft. This session will delve into advanced topics such as Real-World Assets tokenization, cross-chain DeFi protocols, and the Swiss regulatory framework.
Additionally, the partnership aspires to broaden its educational initiatives beyond Luzern, aiming to connect with other ESN chapters across Europe and develop a structured curriculum for cryptocurrency education. This collaboration is a component of Bitget’s broader Blockchain4Youth initiative, a multi-year effort designed to empower young individuals with practical blockchain skills. The initiative aims to reach one million students and early-career professionals by the year 2026 through workshops and collaborations within the industry.
This announcement follows Bitget’s successful “Crypto Experience Month” held in August, which reached over 2,000 students in 11 global markets through a variety of engaging educational activities, including talks, NFT giveaways, and live crypto payment trials.
Established in 2018, Bitget is recognized for its commitment to leading the cryptocurrency sector, with a user base exceeding 120 million across over 150 countries. Through innovative features like copy trading and the Bitget Wallet, which supports a diverse array of blockchains and tokens, the company seeks to facilitate smarter trading and enhance crypto accessibility.
Moreover, Bitget actively engages in strategic partnerships, including its role as the Official Crypto Partner of prominent sports organizations, and is involved in educational efforts in collaboration with UNICEF to support blockchain education for over a million individuals by 2027.
As the partnership with ESN Luzern unfolds, it stands as a promising initiative toward fostering a knowledgeable and skilled community prepared to navigate the complexities of the evolving digital landscape.
