In a significant move aimed at fostering the next generation of digital leaders, Bitget, a leading cryptocurrency exchange and Web3 company, has formed a strategic partnership with the Erasmus Student Network (ESN) Luzern. This collaboration seeks to enhance awareness and understanding of Web3 technologies among students, positioning them for future opportunities in the digital landscape.
The initiative kicked off with an immersive two-day “Game Night” event on September 8th and 9th, which introduced over 100 students to the fundamental principles of blockchain technology. Hosted at the Gameorama Spielmuseum in Luzern, the event served as a part of the welcome week for newcomers at the University of Lucerne, Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, and PH Luzern. Participants engaged in educational sessions that provided a foundational understanding of cryptocurrencies and decentralized finance, followed by interactive gaming sessions that featured a variety of games including VR experiences, board games, and arcade classics.
Vugar Usi Zade, COO of Bitget, emphasized the hands-on approach of the program. “Most programs simply teach theory; we are focused on closing the practicality gap,” he stated. “This collaboration isn’t just about lectures on smart contracts; it’s about giving students hands-on workshops, simulated trading experiences, and direct access to industry professionals.”
The ESN Luzern, as a local branch of a prominent international organization dedicated to supporting students, highlighted its mission to equip students with the skills and knowledge required for the future. Tom Haak, President of ESN Luzern, noted, “Our partnership aligns perfectly with our commitment to education and inclusion, providing a great opportunity for students to learn about Web3 technologies in a practical and accessible way.”
The collaboration presents an exciting opportunity for students to gain essential digital knowledge, crucial for their career aspirations. As part of the ongoing effort, a future workshop titled “DeFi 2.0 & The Rise of Real-World Assets” will delve deeper into advanced topics such as the tokenization of real-world assets, cross-chain DeFi protocols, and the Swiss regulatory landscape.
Bitget’s partnership with ESN Luzern is part of the broader Blockchain4Youth initiative, a multi-year program aimed at empowering students through practical blockchain education. The program has set an ambitious goal of reaching one million students and early-career professionals by 2026 through various workshops, hackathons, and industry collaborations.
The recent collaboration follows Bitget’s successful “Crypto Experience Month” in August, which engaged over 2,000 students across 11 markets with interactive learning events that included educational talks and live crypto payments. This underscores a unified commitment to making Web3 education accessible and engaging for the upcoming wave of digital innovators.
Established in 2018, Bitget’s mission extends beyond trading to include educational initiatives, evidenced by its strategic partnerships in various sectors, including sports and humanitarian efforts. By collaborating with organizations like UNICEF to support blockchain education, Bitget aims to create meaningful impacts on a global scale.
