On September 9, 2025, Bitget CEO Gracy Chen unveiled the concept of a universal exchange (UEX) in a letter to the community, coinciding with the exchange’s 7th anniversary. Chen emphasized Bitget’s mission as “an exchange that offers all the tradable assets,” marking a significant evolution in trading platforms.

The Universal Exchange, or UEX, represents an integrated approach, merging the strengths of centralized exchanges (CEXs), decentralized exchanges (DEXs), and traditional finance platforms into a cohesive experience. According to Chen, “The limited scope of asset listings on centralized exchanges or the complex, fragmented experience of decentralized ones both have their place, but neither provides a truly complete solution.”

The rationale behind unifying CEX and DEX services lies in their respective advantages; centralized exchanges prioritize convenience and liquidity, whereas decentralized exchanges focus on user privacy and self-custody. The biggest challenge, often referred to as the “impossible triangle,” suggests that a platform cannot simultaneously offer excellent user experience, asset variety, and robust security. A UEX aims to transcend this limitation, leveraging the best aspects of both CEXs and DEXs.

Bitget’s UEX is set to feature a comprehensive market for various financial assets, such as ETFs, gold, and tokenized real-world assets, along with US stocks and S&P 500 ETFs. The incorporation of artificial intelligence tools for trade analysis and execution aims to deliver a seamless trading experience. Furthermore, the exchange plans to enhance security by merging user control with institutional protections, backed by a protection fund valued at over $700 million.

A comparison between CEXs, DEXs, and UEXs reveals notable differences. While CEXs offer custodial asset storage, user experience, and high liquidity, they fall short on privacy and control over funds. DEXs ensure user privacy through non-custodial setups but often lack liquidity and regulatory compliance. In contrast, UEXs promise a hybrid approach that combines the advantages of both centralized and decentralized services.

Bitget positions itself as the first large-scale universal exchange, facilitating access to a wide array of financial products. Users can explore diversified investment opportunities, from cryptocurrencies to traditional stocks and commodities. The integration of Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, Base, and Solana assets through Bitget Onchain is a significant milestone, providing users with access to millions of tokens.

The exchange has ramped up its offerings by launching stock futures that enable trading of tokenized assets, such as Tesla, Nvidia, and Apple. Partnerships with firms like xStocks and Ondo further enhance market access to tokenized stocks and real-world assets, contributing to a more extensive investment portfolio for users.

Automation and artificial intelligence are crucial components of Bitget’s UEX model. Technologies such as GetAgent, which offers AI-driven market analysis and trading insights via a chat interface, promise to simplify the trading experience for both novice and advanced traders. The platform’s customizable trading bots can operate around the clock, executing trades based on pre-set instructions to capture market opportunities efficiently.

Security remains a top priority for Bitget. The exchange utilizes a range of features, including multi-factor authentication, SSL encryption, cold storage, and proof-of-reserve reports, to safeguard user assets. The integration of AI for pattern detection and security breach prevention adds an extra layer of protection, flagging any unusual activity for immediate investigation.

With licenses to operate in various jurisdictions—including Italy, Poland, and El Salvador—Bitget is expanding its global reach and ensuring regulatory compliance. The decentralized features of the platform are accessible worldwide, fostering a community of over 120 million users through localized programs and multilingual support.

By combining the best elements of centralized and decentralized finance, Bitget’s UEX offers one of the most integrated investment opportunities in the blockchain space. As noted in past performances, the platform’s initiatives, such as its Launchpool program, have showcased significant returns, further solidifying its role as a leading financial hub.

In conclusion, Bitget aims to be a comprehensive financial marketplace where users can manage diverse assets—ranging from stocks to gold—all within a single platform. The UEX, empowered by AI and blockchain technology, is set to redefine trading experiences and security standards, promising further innovations to meet the needs of a global investment community.
