Bitget, recognized as the largest Universal Exchange (UEX) globally, has launched an innovative shift in its women-in-blockchain initiative, Blockchain4Her, with a new focus titled “Lady Forward.” This refreshed initiative aims to position women not merely as participants but as leaders and innovators within the Web3 landscape. The overarching goal aligns with the initiative’s ongoing mission to broaden equity and opportunity in blockchain through education, empowerment, and global community engagement.
Since its start in January 2024, Blockchain4Her has centered on four strategic pillars: Elevating, Empowering, Educating, and Embracing. The initiative has achieved significant milestones, including funding for 11 women-led startups through the Pitch n’ Slay competition, reaching over 300,000 individuals via UNICEF’s Game Changers Coalition, and facilitating thousands of women’s engagement in worldwide meetups. The launch of “Lady Forward” marks an evolution towards fostering sustained leadership pipelines and enhancing community impacts.
Gracy Chen, CEO of Bitget and the driving force behind Blockchain4Her, expressed that the phrase “‘Lady first’” is an external label, while “‘Lady Forward’ is a self-driven action.” This statement emphasizes a proactive approach where women are encouraged to lead and shape the narrative of Web3 on their own terms. Chen articulated that the initiative not only provides essential tools but also symbolizes a commitment to ensure that women are paving their own paths within the decentralized sector.
Future programs under Lady Forward are designed to expand the initiative’s reach and effectiveness. Planned activities include enhanced partnerships with universities, the introduction of new internship opportunities, and the unveiling of a Female Leaders Program aimed at connecting women across various sectors of the blockchain ecosystem, including developers, investors, entrepreneurs, and policymakers.
Bitget will also showcase Blockchain4Her with a dedicated booth, Pop Forward Station, at TOKEN2049 in Singapore, featuring interactive activities and opportunities for attendees to meet Gracy Chen alongside other influential female figures in the industry.
As Blockchain4Her embarks on this transformative chapter, Bitget reasserts its commitment to inclusivity within the blockchain industry. By leveraging insights gained from its initial phase and setting ambitious targets under Lady Forward, the initiative seeks to empower women not only to participate but to assume leadership roles in the evolving world of Web3.
Founded in 2018, Bitget serves more than 120 million users across over 150 countries, offering innovative features such as copy trading and a comprehensive non-custodial crypto wallet. The platform also emphasizes its role as a strategic partner in various sectors, from sports to education, advocating for blockchain literacy and adoption globally.
This initiative signifies a progressive step toward embedding women’s leadership and ensuring that their contributions are recognized and valued in the rapidly evolving blockchain ecosystem.
