Bitget, recognized as a leading cryptocurrency exchange, in conjunction with Bitget Wallet, has officially launched live trading of tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) within their platforms, following their integration with Ondo Finance. This development positions both companies among the first to offer tokenized stocks and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) to users outside the United States.
Through their partnership with regulated partner Ondo Finance, Bitget and Bitget Wallet aim to serve as alternative gateways to traditional financial markets, bridging the gap between decentralized finance and conventional investment opportunities. This integration not only enhances accessibility but also leverages blockchain’s robust capabilities and highly secure infrastructure to reach a wider audience.
The newly introduced RWA module allows users of Bitget Onchain and Bitget Wallet to explore, analyze, and trade over 100 tokenized stocks and ETFs, marking the largest selection available on-chain today. Each token provides total-return exposure to its underlying asset, mirroring price fluctuations and reinvested dividends, with assets secured by regulated custodians. Tokens can be purchased with a minimal investment of just $1.
In contrast to typical on-chain liquidity pools, Ondo’s approach relies on direct access to the liquidity of traditional equity markets. This ensures execution quality comparable to conventional exchanges, facilitated through its Global Markets infrastructure. While the service is widely accessible, some markets, including certain US users, are excluded. Currently, these assets are available on the Ethereum blockchain, with plans for expansion to other chains such as Solana and BNB in the near future.
Gracy Chen, CEO of Bitget, emphasized the significance of this initiative, stating that the integration showcases the potential of merging traditional financial vehicles with decentralized finance. She highlighted that this innovation simplifies access to high-potential global investments, revolutionizing the financial landscape.
Jamie Elkaleh, Chief Marketing Officer of Bitget Wallet, noted that integrating Ondo Finance is a pivotal move in positioning Bitget Wallet as a global asset passport. This development aligns with their vision of providing borderless access to financial markets through blockchain technology and self-custody solutions.
Ondo Finance, a regulated platform that specializes in the tokenization of publicly traded stocks and ETFs, manages over $1 billion in assets. Its tokenized securities are crafted under a bankruptcy-remote legal structure, ensuring daily third-party attestations to guarantee transparency and security.
Nathan Allman, Founder and CEO of Ondo Finance, remarked that tokenized RWAs are crucial for broadening access to global financial products. The collaboration with Bitget Wallet facilitates a straightforward, secure, and accessible method for users to engage with these assets.
Previously, Bitget and Bitget Wallet entered into Ondo Finance’s Global Markets Alliance, which propelled their efforts in advancing tokenized RWAs. This integration further enables Bitget’s users to diversify their portfolios with global investments using Ondo Finance’s compliant infrastructure.
The assets now available through this new feature include tokenized expressions of prominent companies such as Apple, Tesla, Microsoft, Amazon, and Nvidia, along with major ETFs. All transactions are conducted in USD and are available for trading around the clock, thereby providing easier access to traditional markets through blockchain-based technology. User eligibility, however, is contingent upon regional regulatory frameworks.
To amplify the adoption of these tokenized products, Bitget Wallet will collaborate with Ondo Finance on various promotional campaigns, with plans to increase its tokenized asset offerings to over 1,000 stocks and ETFs in upcoming updates.
This collaborative endeavor emphasizes the growing trend of merging cryptocurrency innovations with conventional finance, potentially reshaping how retail investors engage with global markets.
