Bitget, a premier cryptocurrency exchange and Web3 company, has partnered with the Erasmus Student Network (ESN) Luzern to foster understanding and engagement with Web3 technologies among students. This collaboration aims to develop a new generation of digital leaders by combining Bitget’s technical expertise with ESN’s commitment to supporting international students in Switzerland.
The initiative kicked off with an interactive “Game Night” event on September 8th and 9th at the Gameorama Spielmuseum in Luzern, attracting over 100 students from local educational institutions, including the University of Lucerne and Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. The event featured a blend of educational sessions on the fundamentals of cryptocurrencies and decentralized finance, followed by gaming activities that included VR experiences, board games, and classic arcade games.
Vugar Usi Zade, COO of Bitget, emphasized the importance of practical learning, stating, “Most programs simply teach theory; we are focused on closing the practicality gap.” The goal is to not only inform students but to actively build their skills through hands-on workshops, simulated trading experiences, and direct mentorship from industry professionals.
ESN Luzern, which caters to the needs of international students, also highlighted the significance of this partnership. Tom Haak, the President of ESN Luzern, remarked, “Our mission at ESN is to support students… This partnership aligns perfectly with our commitment to education and inclusion.” By providing accessible information about Web3 technologies, this collaboration aims to equip students with essential skills for their future careers.
As digital knowledge becomes increasingly vital in today’s job market, the partnership seeks to create a robust platform for students to engage more deeply with the evolving Web3 ecosystem. Upcoming events will include a workshop focused on “DeFi 2.0 & The Rise of Real-World Assets,” which will cover critical topics such as the tokenization of real-world assets, cross-chain DeFi protocols, and the Swiss regulatory landscape.
Long-term, the partnership plans to extend its reach by connecting with other ESN chapters across Europe and developing a structured curriculum aimed at ongoing education in the crypto space. This initiative is a part of Bitget’s broader Blockchain4Youth program, which targets empowering one million students and early-career professionals by 2026 through interactive learning experiences like workshops and hackathons.
The collaborative efforts of Bitget and ESN Luzern come on the heels of the successful “Crypto Experience Month,” where over 2,000 students participated in various events worldwide, gaining insights into cryptocurrency through educational talks, NFT airdrops, and live crypto transactions.
Bitget, founded in 2018, has grown to serve over 120 million users across more than 150 countries, providing innovative trading solutions, a leading non-custodial wallet, and a commitment to enhancing crypto adoption globally. Its strategic partnerships, including youth education initiatives with UNICEF and involvement in high-profile sporting events like MotoGP, reflect the company’s ambition to make a substantial impact in the digital financial landscape.
