Bitget, a prominent player in the cryptocurrency exchange and Web3 sector, has announced a strategic partnership with the Erasmus Student Network (ESN) Luzern, a local branch of the esteemed student organization. This initiative aims to bridge the gap between traditional education and the rapidly evolving realm of Web3 technologies, nurturing the next generation of digital leaders.
The partnership kicked off with an engaging “Game Night” event held on September 8th and 9th, attracting over 100 students from the University of Lucerne, Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, and PH Luzern. This immersive event took place at the Gameorama Spielmuseum in Luzern and was a highlight of the welcome week for new students.
The two-day event was thoughtfully divided into educational sessions and gaming experiences. The educational portion focused on cryptocurrency fundamentals and decentralized finance, while the gaming segment featured a variety of formats, including VR games, board games, card games, and classic arcade games.
Vugar Usi Zade, COO of Bitget, emphasized the practical approach of this collaboration, stating, “Most programs simply teach theory; we are focused on closing the practicality gap.” He highlighted the importance of hands-on workshops and simulations that allow students to interactively engage with blockchain technology. The goal is to not only inform participants but also to inspire them to become developers and entrepreneurs who can harness decentralized technology for impactful solutions.
ESN Luzern plays a crucial role in supporting international students in Switzerland by offering a Buddy Program and organizing social events to enhance cultural integration. Tom Haak, President of ESN Luzern, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, noting, “Our mission at ESN is to support students, and equipping them with relevant knowledge and skills is a key part of that mission.”
The collaboration seeks to empower students with essential digital skills, preparing them for future careers in a world increasingly shaped by technology. Looking ahead, the partnership will evolve into more specialized workshops, the next being focused on “DeFi 2.0 & The Rise of Real-World Assets.” This session will delve into significant topics, including tokenization, cross-chain DeFi protocols, and advanced yield strategies, all while adhering to the Swiss regulatory framework.
This initiative is part of Bitget’s broader Blockchain4Youth program, which aims to educate one million students and early-career professionals by 2026 through various workshops and industry partnerships. This effort follows a successful “Crypto Experience Month” that drew participation from over 2,000 students across multiple global markets, showcasing diverse educational offerings and crypto engagement activities.
The partnership with ESN Luzern exemplifies Bitget’s commitment to fostering a practical understanding of Web3 education and supporting the long-term growth and innovation of the digital sector. With plans to expand this initiative to other ESN chapters across Europe, the future looks bright for students seeking to make their mark in the digital landscape.
