Bitget, a leader in the cryptocurrency exchange space, recently gathered over 1,000 students at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) for a significant event focused on Web3 career opportunities. The Web3 Diversity Career Session took place on September 20, as part of the Blockchain4Her “Lady Forward” initiative. Impressively, 90% of attendees were experiencing their first-ever Web3 event.
The event showcased female leaders within the blockchain industry, providing more than 200 female students with direct access to mentors and role models. Gracy Chen, CEO of Bitget and a guest professor at HKUST, opened the session by discussing her insights into current trends in crypto finance. She emphasized topics such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, decentralized finance (DeFi), stablecoins, and new developments in blockchain technologies.
Following her presentation, a fireside chat with Zhang Wei, Founder of Boyaa Interactive, delved into the future of real-world asset (RWA) tokenization and what this means for aspiring professionals in Asia. They discussed the macro trends shaping the industry and how students can equip themselves for future challenges.
A panel titled “Breaking Boundaries: Diverse Paths to Blockchain” featured industry figures including Richi Tao, AI Product Manager at Bitget; Perry Liu, Business Analyst at Bitget; Kajii Xing, Spokesperson for Bitget Wallet; and Rena, COO of BenMo DeFi Community. Panelists shared their experiences in developing Bitget’s AI-powered trading assistant, GetAgent, and discussed strategies for business analysis and community engagement. The consensus was that long-term thinking is essential in navigating the blockchain landscape.
Gracy Chen reiterated Bitget’s commitment to fostering an inclusive environment for women in tech. “At Bitget, we believe innovation thrives when teams represent diverse perspectives,” she stated, encouraging attendees to view Web3 as a platform for leadership and innovation rather than merely a passing trend.
This initiative is part of Bitget’s broader mission to make blockchain technology more accessible and equitable, especially for women and students. By integrating flagship events with opportunities for real-world experiences and mentorship, Bitget aspires to create multiple pathways for underrepresented groups in the digital economy.
Established in 2018, Bitget is recognized as the world’s largest Universal Exchange, catering to over 120 million users across more than 150 countries. Through ongoing efforts such as these, Bitget seeks to redefine access and promote equity and innovation within the rapidly evolving cryptocurrency market.
