ROCHESTER, Minn. – The highly anticipated fundraiser “Go for the Gold” is set to return to Rochester this year, organized by Brighter Tomorrows. Scheduled for Saturday, October 25, the event will take place at Cascade Lake Park, offering a variety of activities that cater to individuals of all ages.
Participants can look forward to kid races, a 3k family fun walk, as well as competitive 5k and 10k runs. In a nod to inclusivity, there are also virtual race options available for those who wish to participate from a distance.
This year, “Go for the Gold” features a Halloween theme, encouraging participants to embrace the spirit of the season by dressing up in costumes. Prizes will be awarded to individuals with the best costumes, adding an extra layer of fun to the day. Beyond the races, attendees can enjoy activities like pumpkin decorating and a photo booth, enhancing the family-friendly atmosphere.
All proceeds from the event will go directly to Brighter Tomorrows, a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting local families faced with a childhood cancer diagnosis. The organization operates on the belief that no family should navigate this challenging journey alone. This event not only aims to raise essential funds needed to support its services and programs but also seeks to promote awareness about childhood cancer within the community.
Interested participants are reminded that registration prices will increase after Sunday, September 21. Those wanting to take part can register online for the fundraiser.
KTTC is proud to be a premier sponsor of this impactful event. Local residents are encouraged to come out, participate, and show their support for families affected by childhood cancer.
