The Boston Bruins are set to conclude their three-game road trip with a matchup against the Minnesota Wild at Grand Casino Arena on Sunday evening at 6 p.m. ET. The Bruins have had a successful trip thus far, securing victories in their first two games and aiming to return home with a full six points.
Head coach Marco Sturm emphasized the importance of preparation as they face the Wild, noting their reputation as a structured team under head coach John Hynes. “As always, a very structured team. I know [John Hynes], and he prepares these guys always very well,” Sturm commented. He acknowledged that both teams are capable of winning low-scoring games, suggesting that the outcome will hinge on minimizing mistakes and focusing on the finer details of the game.
However, the Bruins will be without two key players due to injuries sustained during their last game against Winnipeg. Forward Viktor Arvidsson is dealing with a lower body injury, while defenseman Jonathan Aspirot has an upper body injury, both of which will prevent them from participating against the Wild. In response to these absences, Victor Soderstrom will join the lineup on the third defensive pair alongside Mason Lohrei. Additionally, Mikey Eyssimont will be returning to the roster after being a healthy scratch for the past two games.
Sturm reflected on Eyssimont’s recent absence from the lineup, acknowledging that being scratched can serve as a motivational tool. “Nobody likes when you get scratched,” Sturm stated. “It sounds like scratch is a bad thing, but for me, sometimes it’s a good thing. You can see it on the guys I had scratched this season – sometimes it’s good to watch and get motivated again.” He expressed confidence in Eyssimont’s abilities and hopes that the time off will rejuvenate his performance on the ice.
The Bruins are poised for a challenging but pivotal game against the Wild as they seek to maintain their momentum and finish the road trip on a high note.
