A groundbreaking addition to Chicago’s sports scene is on the horizon with the launch of a new professional baseball team, the Chicago Snowballs. Set to deliver an innovative co-ed entertainment baseball experience, the team is actively seeking multi-talented players who can juggle athletic prowess with performance skills. Whether you’re a shortstop with tuba skills or an outfielder capable of juggling baseballs, the Snowballs could be looking for you.
Drawing inspiration from the engaging formats of teams like the Harlem Globetrotters and the Savannah Bananas, the Chicago Snowballs aim to provide an entertaining blend of baseball and various performance arts. This exciting new venture positions itself to tour around the Midwest, bringing a unique experience to baseball fans and performance enthusiasts alike.
The debut of the Snowballs is scheduled for May 3 at Kerry Wood Field located at 3400 N. Rockwell St. Aspiring players can audition during tryouts taking place from January 5 to 8 at the Rosemont Dome, with callbacks set for January 9. In a bid to boost their recruitment efforts, the team is offering a referral bonus; anyone who recommends a successful candidate can earn $100 and four tickets to the opening game.
As excitement builds, fans can also secure their spot on a waitlist for tickets to the team’s inaugural season, further highlighting the community’s anticipation for this novel sporting event. The Snowballs promise to redefine the baseball experience in Chicago by marrying athleticism with creativity and entertainment, setting the stage for what could become a beloved local tradition.
