Choreographer Criscilla Crossland Anderson, known for her work with iconic stars like Britney Spears and Rihanna, has passed away at the age of 45 after a lengthy battle with colon cancer. Her death was confirmed by close friend Lindsey on social media, where she expressed her heartbreak over the loss. In an emotional tribute, Lindsey reflected on the journey they shared, emphasizing the depth of love surrounding Anderson during her final moments.
Anderson, who gained public recognition from the 2020 Netflix reality series “Country Ever After,” was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer in 2018. Although she was declared cancer-free in 2021, the disease returned in 2022, affecting her lymph nodes. Her prognosis from seven years ago had originally given her a life expectancy of just two years, but she defied the odds for several years, demonstrating remarkable resilience.
A mother of three biological children with her ex-husband, Texas country music singer Coffey Anderson, Criscilla also embraced the role of stepmother to Savannah, Coffey’s daughter from a prior relationship. The couple had married in 2009 but were in the process of divorce at the time of her death. Their shared experiences as a family, including the challenges posed by Anderson’s health struggles, were chronicled in the Netflix series.
In her final days, Anderson penned a heartfelt message to her friends, community, and children, which was shared by Lindsey. In it, she expressed peace in transitioning to what she described as being “Home,” surrounded by love. With deep affection, she addressed her four children, reminding them that she would always be watching over them and encouraging them to pursue their dreams with courage.
Anderson concluded her message with warm words for her friend Lindsey, expressing gratitude for the beautiful moments captured throughout her life and humorously noting that she no longer needed the aid of Photoshop. Her legacy as a dancer, choreographer, and devoted mother is remembered fondly by those who knew her and were touched by her vibrant spirit.
