A troubling incident has emerged involving a prominent figure in Charlotte’s craft beer scene. Justin Brigham, who co-owns Sycamore Brewing, was arrested on serious charges in Stanly County. Authorities reported that the 44-year-old faces charges including statutory rape of a minor, first-degree burglary, and indecent liberties with a child.
Court documents indicate that Brigham was issued a substantial bond of $10 million. The case began unfolding on December 10, when Brigham allegedly broke into a residence on Furr Road in Stanfield. Inside the home, he is accused of engaging in sexual acts with a 13-year-old girl.
In light of the allegations, WBTV has reached out to Sycamore Brewing for a statement but did not receive an immediate response. The brewery is well-known in the Charlotte area for its craft beers and community engagement, making this incident particularly alarming for its patrons and the local community.
As the investigation continues, more details are awaited regarding the circumstances surrounding the arrest and the ongoing legal proceedings.
