Crypto.com has announced a strategic partnership with KG Inicis, South Korea’s largest payment gateway provider, to integrate its Crypto.com Pay service into KG Inicis’s extensive merchant network. This collaboration aims to streamline crypto payments for international visitors traveling to South Korea, offering a more convenient method for spending digital currencies during their stay.

Eric Anziani, President and Chief Operating Officer of Crypto.com, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, highlighting KG Inicis’s dominant position in the market with a 40% share of payment processing in South Korea. He stated, “KG Inicis boasts an unrivalled merchant acceptance network, and we’re proud to partner with this fintech powerhouse to make digital asset payments easier for travellers to Korea.”

KG Inicis currently processes over 400 million transactions annually, leveraging its substantial merchant base that includes prominent retailers, duty-free shops, and K-commerce platforms. The integration of Crypto.com Pay is expected to enhance the adoption of cryptocurrency payments among these merchants, who will benefit from the capability to receive payments instantly in either fiat currency or digital assets.

In addition to the current collaboration, both companies have indicated plans to pursue further business partnerships. This includes potential co-marketing initiatives and the development of innovative blockchain-based financial products, which could enhance the offerings available to customers and merchants alike in the evolving landscape of digital finance.
