Crypto.com has officially announced the discontinuation of support for the Bulgarian lev (BGN) effective December 31, as Bulgaria prepares to transition to the euro. This significant change will impact all users engaging with the platform, as all balances and transactions will automatically be converted to euros following the cut-off date.

Effective immediately, users are advised that any open orders and associated services in BGN will be canceled. This includes the termination of limit and recurring buy orders denominated in the Bulgarian currency. Moreover, BGN will no longer be recognized as a payment currency on the platform. Users are encouraged to prepare for this shift and take necessary actions ahead of the December deadline.

The announcement was supported by an official tweet from the Crypto.com team, highlighting the important transition for users in Bulgaria as the country joins the Eurozone. The tweet specified key details regarding the cancellation of services, ensuring users are aware of the upcoming changes and the timeframe within which they must act.

In addition to these updates, it’s important to mention the functionalities of Cronos, an open-source decentralized blockchain created by Crypto.com. Designed to scale the Web3 user community, Cronos provides developers with the capacity to seamlessly port applications and crypto assets from other blockchain networks, thanks to its low-cost, high-throughput capabilities coupled with rapid transaction finality. Utilizing Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) technology, it maintains compatibility with existing decentralized applications (dApps) built on the Ethereum platform.

CRO, as the native token of the Crypto.com ecosystem, will continue to facilitate transactions and interaction with dApps, fostering an integrated experience for users transitioning to the digital finance landscape. As this transition unfolds, users are encouraged to stay informed on the latest developments and updates regarding their accounts and the support available to them.
