Meta has announced the appointment of Dina Powell McCormick as its new President and Vice Chairman, a move that underscores the company’s ambitions in technology and global connectivity. McCormick, previously a significant member of Meta’s Board of Directors, has played a critical role in advancing the company’s pursuit of frontier artificial intelligence and personal superintelligence.

Dina Powell McCormick brings over 25 years of experience across global finance, national security, and economic development. Her lengthy tenure at Goldman Sachs included serving as a partner in senior leadership roles and being a member of the firm’s Management Committee, where she led its Global Sovereign Investment Banking business. She spearheaded several transformative economic development initiatives such as 10,000 Women, 10,000 Small Businesses, and One Million Black Women, which are aimed at fostering long-term economic growth worldwide.
In her public service career, McCormick held notable positions under two U.S. presidents. She served as Deputy National Security Advisor to President Donald J. Trump, as well as a Senior White House Advisor and Assistant Secretary of State under Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice during President George W. Bush’s administration. Most recently, she held the position of Vice Chair, President, and Head of Global Client Services at BDT & MSD Partners.
With her extensive background and strong relationships worldwide, McCormick is poised to play a pivotal role in Meta’s next chapter as the company increases its efforts to redefine technology and connectivity on a global scale.
