During an upcoming CBS News town hall, host Bari Weiss posed a poignant question to Erika Kirk about her message for Owens and others making these allegations. Erika’s reply was simple yet powerful: “Stop. That’s it. That’s all I have to say. Stop.”
Candace Owens, a former associate of Turning Point USA—an organization founded by Charlie Kirk—had previously viewed her relationship with him as a close one, likening it to that of siblings. Following Charlie’s tragic death in September, she released a nearly 25-minute video in which she expressed her desire for him to be remembered for his contributions rather than the circumstances of his passing. However, since then, Owens has been vocal about various conspiracy theories regarding his murder and has leveled baseless accusations about financial misconduct within Turning Point USA, which Erika Kirk has since taken over.
Reassuring Erika Kirk in light of these allegations, the Treasury Department confirmed last week that none of the tax-exempt entities under her supervision are currently under investigation by the IRS. A senior official from the Treasury responded to the situation by stating, “The IRS is able to provide this type of information upon request by the taxpayer. And in this case, it’s hideous that malicious lies and smears obligated [Erika Kirk] to make the request.”
The town hall, where Erika Kirk candidly discusses her husband, her personal journey of faith and grief, and the trajectory of the American right, is set to air on Saturday at 8 p.m. ET.
