Galatasaray, Monaco'ya Konuk Oluyor: Şampiyonlar Ligi'nde Kritik Maç

In a crucial match set to take place at II. Louis Stadium, Monaco and Galatasaray are preparing to clash as both teams aim to solidify their standings in their respective leagues and in the UEFA Champions League.

Monaco will field a lineup featuring players such as Hradecky, Vanderson, Kehrer, Salisu, Henrique, Camara, Zakaria, Akliouche, Minamino, Golovin, and Balogun. Meanwhile, Galatasaray’s starting eleven includes Uğurcan, Sallai, Davinson, Abdülkerim, Jakobs, Torreira, İlkay, Sara, Sane, Barış, and Osimhen.

Galatasaray has faced a challenging start to their Champions League campaign. After suffering a significant 5-1 defeat against Eintracht Frankfurt, they followed up with a resilient home victory against Liverpool (1-0) and a strong performance against Bodo/Glimt (3-1). However, a disappointing 3-0 loss to Ajax and a narrow 1-0 defeat against Union Saint-Gilloise have left them in a precarious position. Currently sitting at 14th in their league, the team’s aspirations to finish in the top eight remain.

Injuries have compounded Galatasaray’s difficulties, with notable absences including Wilfried Singo and Ismail Jakobs, who will miss out on this crucial match due to their injuries. Additionally, Kaan Ayhan is unavailable, along with players facing sanctions: Arda Ünyay, who received a red card, Eren Elmalı, who has been handed a betting-related ban, and Kazımcan Karataş, who is not listed for the UEFA matches.

Despite these setbacks, the spotlight will be on Nigerian star Victor Osimhen, who has been in remarkable form, scoring in each of his last eight matches across European competitions. Last season, he netted six goals in five Europa League matches and already has six goals in this season’s Champions League, totaling an impressive twelve in his last eight outings.

On the other hand, Monaco, managed by young Belgian tactician Sebastien Pocognoli, has had a tumultuous season. Their Ligue 1 record stands at seven wins, two draws, and six losses across fifteen matches, placing them seventh in the league, eleven points behind leaders Lens. In the Champions League, they have collected six points from one win, three draws, and one defeat, which leaves them in a challenging position at 23rd in the standings.

As the match approaches, referee Danny Makkelie from the Netherlands is set to oversee the game, assisted by Hessel Steegstra and Jan de Vries. With both teams looking to improve their standings, this encounter promises to be a pivotal moment in their seasons.
