Gonzaga Volleyball has taken another significant step towards enhancing its roster for the upcoming season with the recent announcement of a new signee, Lydia Fisher. Head coach JT Wenger revealed the news on Thursday night, marking an exciting addition to the team as they continue to build for the future.
Lydia Fisher, who hails from Dallas, Texas, has made a name for herself during her tenure at Highland Park High School, where she excelled as both a middle blocker and a right-side hitter. Her talent has not gone unnoticed; she earned a spot on the First Team All-District list while playing a crucial role in leading her team to victory in the state championship.
Fisher’s recent achievements include contributing to Highland Park’s success in clinching the 5A State Championship last month. Standing at an impressive 6’5″, she is poised to bolster Gonzaga’s front line, adding significant height and blocking capabilities to the team’s defense. Her skill set and experience will undoubtedly help establish a formidable net presence as the Zags prepare for the next season.
As Fisher transitions from high school to collegiate volleyball, expectations are high for her contributions to the Gonzaga program, where she aims to make an immediate impact on both the court and the team dynamics.
