Cheeky Crypto, a well-regarded name in cryptocurrency market analysis, has recently released a comprehensive video presenting a compelling case for the rising significance of Hedera Hashgraph’s HBAR token as a foundational element in a digital identity system aligned with the World Economic Forum (WEF). The video outlines how major players, such as logistics giant FedEx and a burgeoning exchange-traded fund (ETF) market, are supporting this narrative.

The video emphasizes the pressing need for “verifiable credentials” and digital identities, particularly for the 1.1 billion people living without official documentation. The analyst posits that by 2026, global institutions plan to transition these individuals to digital identities backed by Hedera, portraying this initiative as both a humanitarian endeavor and a step towards a tightly monitored global financial framework. Visuals showcased in the video feature a map detailing undocumented populations in conjunction with the anticipated roll-out of HBAR-powered identities, suggesting that Hedera serves as a “digital anchor for every human.” Central to this initiative is AID Tech, a flagship application funded by the HBAR Foundation aimed at mass credential distribution. The analyst characterizes funding flows into AID Tech as a “Trojan horse” that connects marginalized groups to mainstream financial systems, boasting potential integrations with industry giants like Amazon, Walmart, and Visa.

In a significant development, FedEx joined Hedera’s governing council on February 13, 2026, a move the video describes as a “seismic event.” This integration is set to digitalize the “identity of every package,” expanding discussions of identity from individuals to physical goods. The video illustrates FedEx nodes functioning as backbone elements in a global logistics network, where each transaction generates tamper-evident records accessible to customs, banks, and retailers. This model is said to permit companies to keep sensitive data off-chain while maintaining verification integrity through the public ledger. This operational framework is also linked to members from the energy sector like Repsol, implying a collective industry shift towards Hedera-backed proofs.

From a technical perspective, the video contrasts Hedera’s flat transaction fees (approximately $0.0008) with the unpredictable costs associated with Ethereum and other network outages. The analyst argues that as governments prepare to issue billions of digital IDs, they will require reliable costs and uninterrupted service, positioning Hedera’s software development kit (SDK) for decentralized identities (DIDs) as a more viable option for global governance than platforms focused primarily on retail.

However, the discussion also delves into the controversial structure of Hedera’s governing council, which maintains a cap of 39 corporate members and implements a rotation system. While this has been pitched as a form of “adult supervision,” it raises concerns regarding centralization. The analyst highlights past exits from the council and the entrance of new corporate partners like FedEx and Repsol, suggesting a reliance on the notion that a collective of these major entities cannot all be compromised simultaneously. Other concerns include token supply dynamics, with indications that over 85% of HBAR is in circulation as of early 2026 and ongoing worries about sell pressure linked to grants.

The second major pillar of the analysis is the growing institutional interest, particularly represented by the Canary Capital HBAR ETF that launched in October 2025. The ETF reportedly accumulated over 542 million HBAR, translating to about 1.08% of the maximum supply of 50 billion HBAR. The video outlines a trend where holdings in ETFs are increasing while balances on exchanges are declining, which the analyst interprets as a gradual supply squeeze. Projections indicate a “conservative” price floor of $0.18 and a more “optimistic” scenario of $0.55 shortly, tightly connected to anticipated transaction volumes arising from identity and logistics applications.

The central takeaway for investors posits that if major global entities, including the WEF, standardize their operations around Hedera for digital identity, supply chain management, and AI-enhanced verification, HBAR could transition from being merely a token to a utility asset intricately woven into global data exchanges. This transformation would unfold within a governance model characterized more as a regulated consortium than a decentralized rebellion.

While the video claims alignment between WEF initiatives and Hedera’s design, it does not furnish formal documentation to support this assertion. Speculation continues regarding the actual role FedEx will play in deploying these technologies, as detailed timelines remain unclear. Moreover, the analyst suggests that rising institutional demand alone does not guarantee price appreciation for HBAR, given its inherent volatility. The privacy implications of such systems are also highlighted, indicating that only hashed or metadata-level information would be recorded on the public ledger, with sensitive data retained off-chain. Ultimately, how governments and corporations implement these technologies will influence the outcomes considerably.
