Students from various high schools in Northern Colorado came together for an exciting and educational experience at the Junior Achievement Stock Market Challenge, held at the Drake Centre in Fort Collins. On November 13, 2025, approximately 500 students from Centennial, Rocky Mountain, Roosevelt, Timnath, University, and Windsor High Schools participated in this competitive event.
The challenge provided a unique opportunity for students to engage in an interactive stock trading simulation, allowing them to apply financial concepts in real-time. As the event unfolded, teams of students eagerly strategized and executed trades, guided by the excitement of the stock market environment.
Students from Rocky Mountain High School were seen engaging with traders on the bustling floor, vying for attention to make their stock purchases. Meanwhile, teams from Centennial High School were deep in discussion, weighing the pros and cons of potential investments as they monitored the ticker tape displaying live market activity.
The atmosphere was electric as participants absorbed the competitive spirit of the challenge. In a significant highlight of the day, the winning team — consisting of Aiden Small, Kameron Fuller, Brady Duran, and Aiden Estrada from University High School — celebrated their success after achieving a profitable trading session. Their hard work and strategic planning were rewarded with a trophy, marking a successful culmination to their efforts.
As students took breaks, many gathered to inspect the trophies on display, some reflecting on the knowledge gained during the event and the teamwork involved in making decisions under pressure. The Junior Achievement Stock Market Challenge not only aimed to foster financial literacy among high school students but also provided them with valuable experience in critical thinking and collaboration.
Overall, the event proved to be a significant learning experience, merging education with hands-on practice in the world of finance and investment, leaving participants inspired for future endeavors.
