Global leader in web3 gaming, Immutable, has announced the establishment of a dedicated Mobile Gaming Division aimed at seizing a significant share of the booming $121 billion mobile gaming market. This strategic move signals Immutable’s commitment to enhancing its offerings and expanding its footprint in mobile gaming.
The newly formed unit will focus on equipping partner studios with mobile-optimized development tools, facilitating streamlined app store integrations, and providing direct financial investments to promote the growth of web3 games for iOS and Android platforms. By doing so, Immutable seeks to lower the barriers for developers looking to create engaging mobile experiences.
Immutable’s Mobile Gaming Division is set to prioritize three main initiatives: developing products that simplify on-chain features for mobile developers, collaborating with app stores and publishers, and investing in studios to produce phone-first gaming experiences. Robbie Ferguson, President and co-founder of Immutable, emphasized the immense opportunity lying within mobile gaming, stating that the division represents a focused effort to penetrate the lucrative $121 billion market.
Since April, Immutable has successfully propelled three games to the number one spot on mobile platforms. Ferguson expressed confidence in the company’s ability to dominate mobile charts, declaring, “Now we want the charts to be dominated by Immutable.”
This expansion comes at a time of favorable market and regulatory changes, particularly following the 2025 Epic Games v. Apple ruling that eased restrictions on external cryptocurrency payments and lessened the substantial 30% commissions imposed by traditional platforms. Legislative developments, such as the CLARITY Act, have further lowered the entry barriers for mainstream studios interested in exploring blockchain technology.
Immutable’s ecosystem has thrived on this momentum, adding over 180 games in the current year alone, surpassing a total of 680 titles. Interest from developers has surged by 53%, accompanied by a 32% increase in monthly active users.
The growth is also reflected in the activity surrounding Immutable Play, the company’s launch and live-ops platform. Recent achievements include the worldwide release of Slime Miner, an idle RPG featuring events and leaderboards, a token-and-NFT clash in Dæmons, and significant updates for Chainers that include farming, crafting, and combat elements.
Looking ahead, the Mobile Gaming Division is set to introduce exciting titles, including Project O from Koin Games—a session-based trading card game—and a new release from GAMEDIA, the creators behind Spider Tanks.
In addition to mobile gaming, Immutable has made strides in the esports sector, particularly with its flagship title, Guild of Guardians, which has partnered with notable esports organizations such as Fnatic and Team Liquid to integrate their brands as playable characters.
Immutable’s approach to infiltrating the mobile gaming landscape hinges on one key principle: making web3 gaming a seamless and intuitive experience on mobile devices. With these strategic initiatives underway, Immutable is poised to redefine the mobile gaming sector and leverage the vast potential it holds.
