In today’s US Crypto News briefing, the spotlight is on the recent cooling of institutional interest in Bitcoin amidst a booming stock market driven by AI advancements. Despite Wall Street celebrating gains from tech stocks, a new report indicates that enthusiasm from Bitcoin’s biggest institutional backers, such as BlackRock, appears to be diminishing.

Data from Glassnode reveals that BlackRock’s spot Bitcoin Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF) has experienced a steep decline in weekly inflows, with less than 600 Bitcoin added over the past three weeks. This is a stark contrast to the over 10,000 Bitcoin inflows that typically precede significant market rallies. Analysts at Glassnode have raised concerns, interpreting this slowdown as a signal that major investors may be taking a pause following an extended period of accumulation. Currently, Bitcoin’s price hovers around $107,868 after struggling to maintain upward momentum.

Interestingly, while inflow data may suggest a retreat, some activities within the market indicate ongoing management by institutional players. Reports indicate that BlackRock transferred 1,198 Bitcoin, valued at roughly $129 million, to Coinbase. This transfer could reflect a realignment of portfolios or adjustments for custody purposes, rather than a signal of selling off assets. Such management efforts by large investment firms highlight a cautious approach amid fluctuating market conditions.

As Bitcoin’s demand wanes, traditional markets showcase robust performance. Evercore ISI remains positive on US equities, forecasting the S&P 500 to hit 7,750 by 2026, with much of the gain attributed to AI-driven sectors like technology and consumer goods. Analyst Julian Emanuel insists that the bull market remains strong despite potential short-term volatility linked to Federal Reserve policies and tariffs. He suggests employing hedging strategies that could be beneficial as the market stays “still-healthy.”

The contrasting trends between the cryptocurrency and traditional equity markets suggest an intriguing dynamic. While stocks flourish on the back of AI and technological innovations, Bitcoin faces challenges in capturing institutional attention. The ongoing tightness in macro liquidity may require a shift back to digital assets for Bitcoin’s revival, contingent upon a resurgence of large-scale investments.

In more localized market updates, key figures from the crypto equities sector showed varying pre-market performances. Notable changes included a slight decline for MicroStrategy and Coinbase, while companies like Galaxy Digital Holdings and Core Scientific expressed gains in early trading.

Overall, the market landscape presents a unique juxtaposition: as traditional investments, particularly in technology, thrive, Bitcoin’s institutional momentum appears to have cooled, possibly reshaping the outlook for the digital asset moving forward.
