On the podcast, Jelly Roll expressed his amazement and gratitude, saying, “It don’t get no bigger in country music, bubba. That’s as big as it gets. F—ing Grand Ole Opry, dawg.” His debut at the Grand Ole Opry took place in November 2021, and he has since expressed his awe at the venue, describing it as a dream realized.
The emotional impact of the announcement was palpable, as Jelly Roll reflected on a past performance at the Opry, referring to it as “the most special night of my life.” As he listened to a clip of his performance, he couldn’t help but recall how Morgan’s song “Almost Home” provided comfort during his time behind bars. Overcome with emotion, Jelly Roll noted, “I didn’t think [I’d] make it,” while holding back tears.
In a pre-taped video, Craig Morgan praised Jelly Roll for making a positive difference in the lives of numerous fans. “I’ll never forget meeting you at the Grand Ole Opry and how much it meant to me to hear you say my music helped you get through some really tough times,” Morgan said. He then formally invited Jelly Roll to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry, calling it an honor to welcome him into the family.
